Apple to Start Charging for Re-Downloading Apps
Oh, HELL NO! Hey Apple, what about the people that have OS crashes that require a reformat? That happened to me with my touch. I’d have to re-buy all of my apps just because I didn’t sync it to my computer before it crashed? Wha? This better not be true.
Update: It seems this “feature” was a bug and apps are free to re-download as usual. Thank the Lord in heaven.

As far as I know, you’ll be able to repeatedly re-download apps through iTunes (on PC or Mac) for free, but only through the iPhone once. All in all I don’t think it’ll cause too many problems.

To me this single problem is HUGE. I use my iPod touch on a PC and a Mac. It’s complicated, but using two computers means that I can’t set up my iPod to sync or all of the apps on the device will get removed.
Since I can’t sync that means that I can’t download apps from iTunes… I have to download directly from the iPod. Since iPhone OS 3 will not let me download apps more than once I will have to re-buy apps if something catastrophic happens. I’ve already had a problem that was only resolvable by reformatting… if that happens again I’m out hundreds of dollars. That sucks!!!
